Benefit Cosmetics Event

Yesterday evening I went to the Benefit event, which was co-hosted by VexInTheCity at their gorgeous store in Covent Garden. The event was held to demonstrate how and which Benefit products are suitable for darker skin tones. I have always walked past Benefit, as I'd felt that their products are only suitable for those with fair skin.. So I found this all very exciting!

Their Head Make up Artist, Lisa Potter-Dixon (who by the way is stunning), performed a super quick eyebrow wax on one of the willing volunteers. Lisa recommended that those with dark eyebrows should also tint their eyebrows so it appears more 'full'. She then went on to makeover Sharon using some of their products such as dr.feelgood and their new blush bella bamba.

The picture above is their new Spring/Summer kit Finding Mr.Bright, which is for fresh dewy skin to last the whole day. The kit is available online from 4th March, which is this Friday. We also got told that Benefit will be launching a new skincare range on April the 1st (this is no April Fool's joke haha). Also, in 2012 they will be bringing out about 20 shades of foundations (I think).. There should be a foundation to suit everyone apparently! :)

We got sent away with a few goodies too... The gilded highlighter, cream eyeshadow in r.s.v.p, a sample of "that gal" primer and a Benefit necklace. I am looking forward to trying the cream eyeshadow out :) We also received a Benefit catalogue.. I have tried about 5 times to order one online but have never been sent one, so I am pleased I have finally got one!

Thank-you NerdAboutTown for the last 2 photos! x
And finally, it was lovely to meet the few old faces I did recognise and plenty of new ones! A list of all the ladies I had the pleasure of meeting- innerbelle, unetasse, MouldyFruit, NerdAboutTown, ThePostcolonialRabbit, ShimmerDreamz and of course VexInTheCity :)

This is interesting, i've always walked past the benefit counter as i thought there would be nothing that was for my dark skintone.

I'm interested to know what products are useful for ladies with darker skin tones?
